My Approach to Garden Design

Garden planning from scratch or giving your existing garden a makeover is difficult if you don't know where to start. Living in the environment you are trying to change can blinker you from seeing what your space could be.

Consquently, calling in someone who has experience can help change your perceptions and challenge ideas. This will help you to get the most out of your space and focus on what can be achieved. Budgets can be considered as well as the pros and cons of different materials and styles.

Gardens should be thought of as an extension of our indoor space. As a result, the overall design style will generally flow from the interior to exterior. First of all, when visiting a client I always take in my surroundings. I try and gain an understanding of the people that live within the space and analyse how they will use their garden. Questions about lifestyle can help to pinpoint the type of garden that a person will want and appreciate.

In a sensitive, professional manner I can help you understand the benefits of your outdoor space and arrive at a design solution.

Who am I ?

My working life began as a Product and Packaging designer for a well known supermarket. I realised over time that the daily commute and noise of the city really didn't agree with me ! With my husband to be, I embarked on a big adventure travelling the world for a year. Along the way I was inspired by landscapes, people and cultures.

On return I decided that I wanted to feel closer to nature and the things I had experienced. As a result I completed a RHS Diploma Course in Horticulture and set up a garden maintenance/design business. With two sons now on the scene I then moved to employed Garden Designer positions with two local landscapers. These roles increased my knowledge of both design and construction.

The family are now growing up fast hence I have moved back to self employment. I aim to create a friendly and relaxed garden design business that can help you get the most out of your garden ...
